No Gabi no problem for Arsenal as Saliba and Timber rise to the occasion against Man United

Jakub Kiwior and Oleksandr Zinchenko came in for Arsenal as Gabriel and Riccardo Calafiori missed out.

Leny Yoro is also in a Manchester United squad for the first time after a long spell on the sidelines, with Mason Mount starting in attack.

Both teams failed to create any meaningful chance in the first half but had to wait till the second half to get the first goal.

Just nine minutes into the second half, Declan Rice's corner from the left found Jurrien Timber, who peeled away from his marker to plant a near-post header into the net.

The Gunners got the second goal from a corner again, with Bukayo Saka's corner being met by Thomas Partey, whose nodding bounced off William Saliba and into the net.

Arteta’s men held on for most of the game and denied Man United from getting a goal until the final whistle was blown.
