The Chelsea goalkeeper received votes from 47 of the 50 journalists who participated in the selection for the Women's Yashin Trophy.
While Hampton received Nigeria's first-place vote, Nnadozie's high ranking is a significant achievement for African football and highlights her growing global reputation.
Now back with Brighton, Nnadozie will aim to build on her recent success with the hope of one day becoming the first African to win the prestigious award.
