Nigerian GCFR Bola Ahmed Tinubu gifted Mbappé’s iconic jersey by France's President

Tinubu took a trip to France and was welcomed by the French president, with whom they have both had a strong-standing relationship.

During their meeting, Macron presented the Real Madrid star's number 10 shirt as a testament to their close diplomatic ties.

The gift is important in light of the growing respect for Mbappé in France and abroad, including in Nigeria.

The Nigerian president was shown expressing joy after President Macron was seen in a social media video displaying the jersey bearing the number 10.

In the video shared on X, Macron was seen smiling and said, “Number 10 like [Kylian] Mbappé. And this is number 10.”

Macron reflected on their long-standing collaboration and expressed happiness at welcoming President Tinubu to France.

He also talked about his early years, including his time spent as a young intern at the Nigerian Embassy.

He said, “It’s a great honour for France, dear President Bola Tinubu (@officialABAT), to welcome you for this state visit as a major partner and friend of today and tomorrow.

“It still makes me very happy to remember that I was once a young intern at the French Embassy in Nigeria back then.”

Meanwhile, Mbappe continued his scoring form for Real Madrid and found the back of the net against Getafe to take his goal tally to eight goals in 13 appearances.
