Nigeria vs DR Congo: Hope this is not a trap - reactions as CAF clears Ndidi for Leopards game
Nigerians have questioned the eligibility of Wilfred Ndidi for the Super Eagles World Cup playoff final against DR Congo on Sunday.
Nigeria will play DR Congo at the Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat, Morocco with the match kicking off at 8 pm and the winner will secure a spot in the inter-confederation playoffs next year, vying for one of the two remaining spots in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
CAF clears Ndidi
The biggest news ahead of the match is the confirmation from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) that Wilfred Ndidi is eligible to play for Nigeria against DR Congo.
This comes after concerns that Ndidi might be suspended due to accumulated yellow cards during the World Cup qualifiers.
However, Super Eagles announced through their X page that CAF has clarified that the cautions from the qualifying rounds do not carry over into the playoff stage, making Ndidi available for selection.
