Na highlight I watch? Nigeria's Boniface shocked by Joshua's 6-minute Ngannou KO
Nigeria’s Victor Boniface was left stunned after watching his countryman Anthony Joshua blast past Francis Ngannou in just six minutes in Saudi Arabia.
Pulse Sports Nigeria reports that the Bayer Leverkusen striker took to social media in disbelief after witnessing Joshua's latest brutal knockout victory over the former UFC heavyweight champion.
Boniface reacts to Joshua’s brutal win
Joshua wasted no time in taking control in Riyadh, flooring Ngannou heavily in the opening round with a blistering right hand.
The Cameroonian survived Joshua’s first knockout but was soon on the receiving end of more vicious attacks from the Anglo-Nigerian.
As reported by Pulse Sports, a straight right hand in the second round crashed home on Ngannou's jaw, leaving him face-planted as the referee waved off proceedings after just six minutes of action.
"Na highlight i watch abi na the fight be this," Boniface tweeted, suggesting the cross-over bout was over in a flash.
It was Joshua at his destructive, concussive best - the kind of performance that has made the Nigerian a box office icon of the combat sports world.
But even Boniface, a man used to elite sporting displays, couldn't quite believe how quickly AJ had dismantled his opponent in the now-deleted post on Twitter.
The 23-year-old is currently recovering from a knee injury that has kept him out of action for Leverkusen since January.
Before that setback, the forward had been in sensational form, scoring 10 goals and providing seven assists to fire Leverkusen to the top of the Bundesliga.
No doubt Boniface will have been aiming to take inspiration from Joshua's savage display of power and intensity as he continues his rehabilitation.
While the fight itself was short-lived, Joshua reasserted his status as one of the most devastating punchers in world sport with his surgical takedown of the feared Ngannou.
It seems Boniface, just like the rest of us, was left stunned and in awe of AJ's handiwork at work in Saudi Arabia on a historic night.
