Miya, Bolasie score as Turkey starts recovery from deadly earthquake

Farouk Miya continued with his good form on Monday with a goal as his club Çaykur Rizespor saw off third-tier side Pazarspor 3-0 in a build-up match in Turkey.

DR Congo and former English Premier League striker Yanick Bolassie opened the scoring in the 22nd minute before Bosnian forward Grahovac added the second.

Miya was introduced in the second half tan went on to score in the 67th minute as Turkey slowly returns to normalcy after the deadly earthquake that hit a fortnight ago.

League suspended

Rizespor is using the friendly build-up matches to keep the team fit after league football was suspended for a month following the deadly earthquake that killed almost 2000 people in Turkey and Syria.

The club last featured in a competitive match on Saturday 4th beating Yeni Malatyaspor 5-1 in a game in which the Ugandan international scored a goal.

Miya has scored four goals this season as his club lies 5th with 37 points, five behind leaders Samsunspor who have played a game more. Rizespor is looking to bounce back to the top tier after a season in the second division.
