Given Real Madrid's vast offensive talent, the position where Kylian Mbappe will be deployed has been a topic of contention since it was announced he had signed for Real Madrid.
Mbappe, 25, favours the left wing, a position already occupied by the Champions League MVP for last season, Vinicius Jr. However, Kylian has explained that he does not intend to upset the apple cart and that he can work in tandem with Vinicius and Rodrygo.
What Mbappe said
Speaking at his unveiling, Mbappe was made to address his positional clash with Real Madrid's best player, Vinicius. The France captain downplayed the complication, explaining that great players work well together.
He also added that he is capable of playing across the frontline, as he has done at his two previous clubs, and he will make the most of wherever Carlo Ancelotti chooses to deploy him.
“Vinicius is a unique player, a very great player,” Mbappe stated. “I’ll be very happy to play with him, as with all the other players [on the team]. Great players know how to play together […] It’s up to me to adapt to the team.”
“I’ll play wherever the coach wants me to play. At PSG, I played in all three positions. In Monaco too. The important thing is to be in good physical shape.”
