Manchester United's goalkeeper has caught flak from fans after he failed to match his pre-game talk with an adequate performance.
The Red Devils goalie talked a big game before the match and even got into a war of words with Lyon midfielder Nemanja Matic. During the game, however, Onana was unreliable and was in the frame for both goals Manchester United conceded.

Onana’s pre-game antics
In the pre-match press conference, the Cameroon international said the Red Devils were “way better” than Lyon and should be beating the French side if they played at their best.
Matic, a former Red Devil himself, now employed by Les Gones, fired back at Onana, saying the 27-year-old was statistically one of the worst goalkeepers in Manchester United's history.
In response, Onana said, “I would never be disrespectful to another club. We know that tomorrow will be a difficult game against a strong opponent.”
“We focus on preparing a performance to make our fans proud. At least I’ve lifted trophies with the greatest club in the world. Some can’t say the same.”
Onana fails to deliver
Manchester United drew 2-2 in their Europa League quarter-final first-leg clash against Lyon, and Onana could have done better for both goals the Red Devils conceded, leading many to side with Matic in the war of words with the former Ajax shot-stopper.

I've never seen a goalkeeper at ANY level parry the ball back into the direction of the opposition in my entire life than Onana.

Fair enough, Matic. Worst keeper in club history. Fucking idiot.
I couldn’t care less if that’s Andre Onana’s last game for Manchester United.

Two goalkeeping errors to get rid of a crucial lead in the only competition that could salvage our season.
Doesn’t deserve to play the second leg.

8 - Since the start of last season, no goalkeeper has made more errors leading to goals for Premier League clubs in all competitions than Manchester United's André Onana (8). Exhibit. pic.twitter.com/G8vq2HMzes
