Bryan Mbeumo has emerged as one of the hottest prospects in the summer transfer window, with his stock rising after a stellar 2024/25 season.
The Cameroonian forward smashed a career-best 20 Premier League goals for Brentford, trailing only Mohamed Salah, Erling Haaland, and Alexander Isak in the scoring charts.
Since joining Brentford from Troyes in 2019, Mbeumo has been a steady presence, but his explosive campaign last season truly put him on the map.
His dazzling performances have inevitably drawn attention from top clubs. Manchester United saw their initial £55 million bid rejected by Brentford, who are holding firm for a higher fee, though talks between the clubs continue to find common ground.
Mbeumo has reportedly set his sights on United, eager to join Ruben Amorim’s squad.
However, Tottenham Hotspur are aiming to wreck United’s plans. With Thomas Frank, Mbeumo’s former Brentford boss, now at the helm in North London, Spurs have entered the race to sign the 26-year-old, aiming to hijack United’s move.
In response, reports suggest United could pivot to Crystal Palace’s star playmaker Eberechi Eze.
The England international has established himself as one of the Premier League’s finest creators and is said to be open to a move to a bigger club.
