Manchester United identify brentford star as Rashford replacement

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has reportedly made peace with the fact that Marcus Rashford will leave the club this month.

To that end, the club have identified the ideal replacement for the 27-year-old, who has garnered interest from Milan, Borussia Dortmund and others.

Amorim reportedly wants a direct attacker who can play any of the forward roles, and the United boss believes Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo is the perfect fit.

The Cameroon international has scored 13 goals and added three assists in 18 Premier League matches.

He, alongside Yoane Wissa, have been exceptional for an otherwise average Brentford side this season.

Only Mohamed Salah (18) and Erling Haaland (16) have scored more in the top-flight than the 25-year-old this season.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Amorim's side are aiming to secure his services for £40million.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils remain linked with Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, but a move may only materialise in the summer.
