Man Utd legend emerges as favourite to coach Arokodare at Wolves after Pereira dismissal
Wolverhampton Wanderers dismissed manager Vitor Pereira on Sunday following a dismal 3-0 loss to Fulham, a result that leaves the club rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table and eight points adrift of safety.
The club's disastrous start to the season has seen them fail to secure a single victory in their opening ten league matches, accumulating just two points.
The heavy defeat at Craven Cottage on Saturday proved to be the final straw for the Wolves board, who confirmed Pereira's departure on Sunday morning.
Reports suggest Wolves have identified several high-profile candidates, including former managers of Liverpool and Manchester United. Ex-Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is the early frontrunner, with former Wolves boss Gary O'Neil and ex-Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick also in the running.
Carrick was fired as manager of Middlesbrough after failing to guide them to promotion last season, and is now firmly on Wolves' radar as a potential replacement.

The summer departures of key players, including Matheus Cunha to Manchester United and Rayan Ait-Nouri to Manchester City, have compounded the club's struggles this season.
Wolves hope to have a new manager in place for their upcoming Premier League fixture against Chelsea next weekend as they face a desperate fight to avoid relegation to the Championship for the first time since the 2017-18 season.
