Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez is reportedly considering leaving the club as he is unsatisfied with his current status at the club as a deputy to Erling Haaland.
Alvarez’s situation
The 24-year-old joined Manchester City from River Plate at the start of the 2022/23 season, and he played as a spare, starting only 13 league games.
However, this season, he enjoyed more game time given the injuries Haaland and Kevin de Bruyne, and he racked up 31 league starts; however, his game time waned towards the business end of the season when everyone was fit, causing him to reconsider his future.
Alvarez is open to leaving
According to Fabrizio Romano, Alvarez is frustrated about his game time at Manchester City, and his feet are itching to test new waters.
Per the report, Paris Saint-Germain have already made a move, and Premier League side, Chelsea are also on the prowl. However, Manchester City’s stance remains the same from last season, when multiple clubs proposed a loan deal for the Argentine—he is not available for sale or a temporary move away from the club.
Meanwhile, Alvarez is reunited with the rest of the Albiceleste squad as they prepare to defend their Copa America title in a few weeks.
