Luis Suarez set to join Lionel Messi at Inter Miami

Inter Miami are set to capture another of Lionel Messi’s former Barcelona pals, with Uruguayan forward Luis Suarez reportedly next on the list of superstars targeted by the MLS club.

Messi joined Inter Miami in the summer of 2023 after leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of his contract with the French side.

The World Cup and Ballon d’Or winner was then joined by former Barcelona teammates Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets, who were signed by Inter Miami soon after.

According to multiple reports, the former Barcelona party could grow by one, as Suarez has already agreed to a deal to become an Inter Miami player in the next transfer window.

Suarez, who is currently with Germio in Brazil’s Serie A, has been touted as a possible Inter Miami signing since Alba and Busquets joined the MLS side, and it appears that the speculation is about to come to fruition.

Suarez and Messi enjoyed a spectacular partnership when they were teammates at Barcelona for six years between 2014 and 2020, and Inter Miami fans will hope that they can bring that devastating form to the MLS when the 2023/24 season kicks off.

Despite being 36 years old already, Suarez’ Gremio form has shown that he still has plenty to offer Inter Miami, with the former Liverpool forward contributing 19 goals and 16 assists in 46 appearances in the ongoing 2022/23 season.

Given Inter Miami’s struggles without Messi at the tail of the MLS regular season, they will be eager to sign another superstar forward who can decide games on his own and add much-needed depth to their team.
