Lookman Out, Man In - Atalanta set to replace Super Eagles star with Romanian Winger

The Nigerian winger could be replaced by Dennis Man, who is expected to leave Parma, as reported by GSP. Valentin Mihăilă also spent half a season on loan at the Bergamo club.

Having already sold Valentin Mihăilă to a Turkish club, Parma could also offload Dennis Man this transfer window. The 26-year-old winger has emerged as a target for Atalanta, joining Lazio, Bologna, and Fiorentina on the list of clubs interested in the Romanian.

According to Calciomercato, the Bergamo club has already contacted Parma, inquiring about the Romanian international. His profile and price reportedly fit their requirements, especially as Inter continues to push for Lookman's sale.

The London-born Nigerian is highly sought after by Inter, at the urging of Cristi Chivu. Atalanta's second-highest scorer last season has reportedly accepted Inter's offer, which includes a €5 million net annual salary, and is convinced by the project presented by the Romanian coach.

For Lookman to move to the San Siro, Atalanta and Inter still need to agree on a transfer fee.

The Champions League runners-up are offering €40 million, while Atalanta is holding out for €50 million. However, Italian sources suggest a deal could be reached at €45 million plus €5 million in bonuses.

The departure of Lookman, coupled with Juan Cuadrado's contract expiring, leaves Atalanta short on the wings. Dennis Man is considered a low-cost option. The Romanian has two years left on his Parma contract but is expected to depart.

Despite new Parma manager Carlos Cuesta including him in the squad for the first pre-season training camp, Parma is open to offers for Man and ready to let him go for the right price.

Valentin Mihăilă also spent five months at the Gewiss Stadium in 2022, making only seven appearances totalling a mere 104 minutes.

Having failed to impress Gian Piero Gasperini, the former Universitatea Craiova player returned to Parma after his short loan spell.
