Liverpool vs. Nottingham Forest preview, prediction, team news and head-to-head
The defending champions are eight points behind league leaders Arsenal, just one point less than the nine points they have over Forest, who are deep in the relegation zone.
Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest preview
Liverpool were beaten 3-0 by Manchester City just before the break, condemning Arne Slot’s side to a fifth defeat in six league games (W1). The Reds will return home knowing they are in a full-blown crisis, but with four wins in their last five league games at Anfield (L1), they can harbour great hope of returning to winning ways.
Slot’s men have suffered only one defeat in their last 22 home league games (W17, D4), and they will hope to put Forest to the sword and possibly kickstart a positive streak.
Forest, meanwhile, secured just their second league win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Leeds United last time out.
Forest have also revived their cutting edge under Dyche, netting five goals in his three Premier League matches, matching their total from the previous eight games combined.
However, optimism is tempered by recent away form, as the Tricky Trees have lost their last two league trips without scoring.
Liverpool vs. Nottingham Forest head-to-head
Forest are unbeaten in their last two matches against Liverpool, winning 1-0 and drawing 1-1 last season. If the visitors avoid a loss on Saturday, it will be the first time since November 1993 that they will have put together a three-match unbeaten streak against the Reds.
Prior to that, Liverpool had won the three previous matches.
