Jarell Quansah's move to Bayer Leverkusen has opened the door for Liverpool to pursue a replacement.
The Reds are reportedly edging closer to a deal for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi and could wrap up a deal within the next fortnight.

Leverkusen, now led by former Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag, who took over in May, the Bundesliga runners-up announced on Wednesday they were “delighted” to sign “one of England’s most promising centre-backs,” Quansah for a deal worth up to £35m, with a potential £5m in add-ons.
With Quansah’s exit sealed, uncertainties around Ibrahima Konate’s future beyond next season, and Joe Gomez’s recurring injuries, Liverpool are moving fast to bolster their defense.
Guehi led Palace to FA Cup glory in May after Newcastle’s £50m-plus bids were rebuffed last year. He has also established himself as England's starting centre-back ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Liverpool’s revamped backline for 2025-26 will also feature Dutch right-back Frimpong and Hungary’s ex-Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez.
