Little known Super Eagles-eligible striker leaves Canada for Bulgaria
Bulgarian club FC Arda Kardzhali have secured the loan signing of Nigerian striker Chinonso Offor from Canadian outfit CF Montreal.
The 23-year-old forward, who joined Montreal just last year from the Chicago Fire, will spend the remainder of the 2024 season with the Bulgarian top-flight side.
And if he impresses, Arda Kardzhali will have the option to make the move permanent at the end of the loan spell.
Super Eagles-eligible star’s Brief
Offor, who started his professional career in Latvia with BFC Daugavpils, has already made his mark in MLS, netting 4 goals in 30 appearances for Montreal last season.
And now he'll be hoping to take his talents to the efbet Liga, where his new club Arda Kardzhali currently sit seventh in the table.
In a statement on their website, Montreal confirmed the loan deal, saying:
"Montréal announce that striker Chinonso Offor has been loaned to Bulgarian first division club FC Arda Kardzhali, until the end of the 2024 season. The loan includes a permanent transfer option."
This move will give the young Nigerian a chance to showcase his skills on the European stage, as he looks to build on his promising start to life in North America.
With Arda Kardzhali holding the option to make the deal permanent, it could be a win-win situation for all involved.
So keep an eye out for Chinonso Offor lighting up the Bulgarian top flight in the coming months - this loan move could be the making of the talented striker.
