Chukwueze gives hilarious response to Bassey's chant 

The ruckus began when Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, and the newest Fulham addition, Samuel Chukwueze, were asked to send a final message to their supporters ahead of the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.

Bassey confidently looked into the camera and uttered the popular slogan, “Let’s do it again,” but Chukwueze was not having it. T

he winger immediately interrupted, asking, “Let's do what again? We did not do it the last time... We reached the final the last time and we lost, so what is let's do it again?” 

This blunt reminder of their runner-up finish at the previous tournament served as a hilarious reality check for the squad looking to improve on their 2023 second place finish.

Super Eagles' quest for continental glory

Beyond the locker room banter, the Super Eagles are under immense pressure to reclaim their status as Africa’s premier footballing nation. 

After a difficult run in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and a recent friendly loss to Egypt at the Cairo International Stadium, manager Eric Chelle is desperate for a positive result.

Nigeria is currently drawn in Group C and will kick off their campaign against Tanzania at the Fez Stadium on December 23. This will be followed by critical fixtures against Tunisia on December 27 and Uganda on December 30. 

For Chukwueze and his teammates, the goal in Morocco is clear: to finally "do it" by going one step further than their previous final appearance and bringing the trophy back to Nigeria.
