LA 2028, I'm coming: IShowSpeed smokes Olympic champion Letsile Tebogo in sprint race
Popular Streamer IShowSpeed laid down another strong marker to backup his declaration of competing at the LA 2028 Games, after defeating Olympic 200m champion Letsile Tebogo in a sprint race in Botswana.
The race which was part of activities for his "Speed Does Africa" tour, saw the streamer challenge the Olympic homeboy hero to a head-to-head sprint dash, an event that quickly captured global attention online.
In viral clips of the race, IShowSpeed showcased his trademark explosive start. In contrast, Tebogo appeared to have a slow getaway from the line, a stumble that ultimately allowed the YouTube personality to cross the finish line first.
Clearly thrilled with the outcome, Speed celebrated his win, exclaiming, "I won that though!" He then shook hands with the Olympian and offered a second race, asking, "You want to go again?"
Tebogo, graciously conceded defeat. "No, it's fine," he replied. "I'll let you take the win."

Despite it being a friendly race, it further confirmed Speed's prowess as a talented speedster, and if he commits a dedicated period to professional training has what it takes to become a world-class sprinter.
This victory over Tebogo is just the latest in a series of audacious athletic challenges undertaken by IShowSpeed against Olympic sprinters. In late 2024, he faced American sprint king Noah Lyles in a $100,000 50-meter race.
While Lyles, the reigning 100m Olympic champion, won that contest, he later admitted he was impressed by Speed's "elite" start.
The streamer also offered Olympic star Sha'Carri Richardson an open-race challenge, to which the sprint queen declined that 'she doesn't race for free' but instead 'invited him to her training group' to teach him how to be a sprinter first.
During a stop in South Africa, the streamer took his ambitions to another level by racing a cheetah. In a controlled environment, the big cat, which can reach speeds of 70 mph, was released from a cage but failed to catch the streamer before he reached the finish line.
