Giorgio Chiellini knows a thing or two about defending and the former Juventus man has given defenders in the MLS some tips on how to stop Messi.
The iconic left-footed defender said that said he's not surprised by Messi's start to life at Inter Miami.
The Argentine legend has bagged three goals and an assist in two games, taking no time to adapt to life in the US.
Chiellini on how to stop Messi
Despite the footballing world being shocked by Messi's performances at this age, Chiellini is not surprised at all.
Speaking to AS, Chiellini said:
“I was not surprised. The problem is that maybe this league is surprised. I think they (MLS teams) have to do something better to try to contain Messi.
"If you think that Messi is a normal player, it’s a huge mistake. It means you haven’t seen him for the last fifteen years. If Sergio Busquets has the ball and you don’t mark Messi ... maybe you don’t have a TV at home.
"I expect a little bit more pressure from the other teams. The last game seemed like less than a friendly.”
