Romelu Lukaku is expected to leave Chelsea before the transfer window shuts next week, with Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino making it clear that he has no place in the squad.
Lukaku has been linked with a return to the Italian Serie A throughout the summer, with moves to Inter Milan and Juventus collapsing.
Lukaku to Mourinho's Roma?
AS Roma have become the latest side linked with the Belgian forward and 'the special one' Jose Mourinho, has done nothing to dispel the rumours.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Mourinho claimed the club is trying to sign one more striker following the arrival of Serdar Azmoun.
He said: “Lukaku deal? The club told me that we will sign one more striker after Serdar Azmoun and that makes me happy.
“It’s difficult for me to comment now on Azmoun as he hasn’t signed yet, imagine Lukaku who’s Chelsea player"
Mourinho would be delighted to welcome a striker of Lukaku's quality, especially after working with him at Manchester United in 2017.
