Jamie Carragher insists Arsenal lack the necessary skills to win the Premier League
In what was predicted to be a fiercely contested match, the game was full of VAR checks and controversy.
Manager Arteta became enraged with the officials' "embarrassing" performance after the Newcastle game.
Carragher’s comment after the game
Speaking after the game, Jamie Carragher questioned Arsenal's title chances as the Gunners faced their first loss of the season at St James Park today.
Carragher said as reported by Daily Mail, “Have Arsenal got a centre forward and a goalkeeper to win the league? I don't think they have.
“For me, Ramsdale's not going to win the league. Raya is all over the place.”
Carragher continued by speaking about Declan Rice, “Bringing Rice in improves it, it doesn't seem fluid, players were playing out of their skin last season' said former Liverpool star Carragher.
“Teams have figured out how to play against them. I think teams have figured out how to stifle them.”
Martin Odegaard was declared unfit to play, too, while Thomas Partey was also sidelined due to injury. Gabriel Jesus was also absent.
Early in the season, Arsenal's injury problems are becoming worse, forcing Eddie Nketiah to stand in for the injured Brazilian.
Arsenal will welcome Sevilla to the Emirates on Wednesday, before playing Burnley at home in the Premier League.
