"I was in bed when an explosion hit, and the walls shook violently. I couldn't get into my room, and a few days later, the hotel crew returned my belongings to me.

The 20-year-old first played for Polissia Football Club in Zhytomyr, a city in central Ukraine, before transferring to Chornomorets Football Club in Odesa in September 2024.

He continued, "I decided to come to Ukraine because I needed to develop my skills and understand the way of European football. I asked former Nigerian players who had played in Ukraine, and they told me that Ukraine was the place where I could play and get developed."

He said, "I have to behave as a man because I see some of my teammates here also. So if my teammates can survive in Odessa, so also can I survive."

The Nigerian U-20 goalkeeper also joked that adapting to the Ukrainian weather has been a bigger challenge for him than living in a war zone.
