The team’s poor performance saw them placed in 12th position on the league table with four wins, four draws and four losses.

Following the sacking of Ten Hag, Man United hired Ruben Amorim, who left Sporting CP following a strong start to the season.

Fernandes speaks on Ten Hag and Amorim

Fernandes has spoken about the teams' performance and who should be blamed for Ten Hag’s sacking.

Ahead of Manchester United’s Europa League clash with Bodo/Glimt, Fernandes said, as reported by Sky Sports, “Mid-season is because things are not going as you want.

“And if things are not going as you want, everyone has to take the blame, obviously everyone in their department.

“But as I said before, you know, it's easy to get rid of a manager than 15 or 20 players or whatever.”

The Portuguese also spoke about working with the new manager, Amorim and how the team is focused on the future.

He continued, “Now our focus is on what the future can bring and to get as soon as possible and quickly as possible on the new ideas of the new manager.”

However, he will be looking to get his first win when his team welcomes the Norwegian club to Old Trafford.
