The controversy centered on Nigerian striker Gift Orban, who not only scored Verona's equaliser from the penalty spot but also avoided a red card for elbowing Juventus defender Federico Gatti in the first half.

Following a VAR review, Rapuano chose to give Orban a yellow card, a decision that made Tudor lash out at the referee.

Speaking after the match, the 47-year-old also expressed his frustration with the penalty decision, insisting the result could have been different if the referee had made the correct calls.

"There wasn't a penalty and there was a red card for the elbow on Gatti," Tudor fumed in his post-match comments, as reported by TuttoJuve.

"If Mr Rapuano's calls had gone the other way... I've never seen anything like it. It's an even bigger disgrace with VAR.

He then turned his attention to the second controversial moment. "Do you know what the referee told me at halftime? That the yellow card was correct because Orban didn't 'charge up' before hitting and bringing down Gatti. But how can you say that? So if I punch you without charging, it's okay?"

Despite the controversy, Orban will be encouraged by scoring his first goal for the club since joining this summer and will be keen to build on it as he aims to rediscover his best form.
