Legendary Italian striker Christian Vieri believes Ademola Lookman’s move to Inter will eventually happen, and he tipped the Nigerian striker to excel in Milan.
Ademola Lookman to Inter
Lookman's desired move to the Nerazzurri is shaping up to be the transfer saga of the summer, and all parties involved are drawing a hard line.
Atalanta are refusing to sell their prized asset to a rival club for less than €50 million; Inter want to complete the deal for a €45 million package; and Lookman has gone on strike to force the move.
As Pulse Sports reported, the Nigeria international has cleared out personal belongings from the club's training camp and has missed consecutive training sessions.
What Vieri said
The 52-year-old retired striker, who scored 123 goals for Inter, had an interview with Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport and was asked about the Lookman transfer.
He expressed absolute confidence that the deal will eventually get done, despite Atalanta’s stance. He went further, predicting the success of the move, saying Lookanh will score many goals. "Yes, it will. And Ademola will score 18 goals," Vieri said, per FC Inter News.
Meanwhile, if Lookman continues to strike, Atalanta can go ahead to dock his pay. Lookman also has recourse, as there is a legal possibility that he could unilaterally terminate his contract.
