According to The Sportster, both fighters are expected to earn seven figures in total, with Adesanya’s share likely being higher due to his status and past achievements in the sport.

The fight, which was the first UFC title clash between two African fighters, generated significant financial rewards for both fighters and sparked controversy in the lead-up.

Du Plessis’ controversial claim to be the “first real African UFC champion” drew criticism from Adesanya, who viewed it as an affront to his heritage.
