Iniesta urges Barcelona starlet Lamine Yamal to Keep Improving
Barcelona legend Andrés Iniesta, has urged young forward Lamine Yamal, who has been navigating a challenging period to keep improving.
The teenage sensation, who has recently battled fitness issues, found the net with a crucial opening goal, signalling a potential return to form after a difficult few weeks.
His strike against Elche brought his season total to four goals and five assists across all competitions.
Amid a season of highs and lows, Yamal has received encouragement from none other than club legend Andres Iniesta.
What Iniesta said
Speaking to Movistar+, Iniesta reflected on Yamal's turbulent season, offering praise for the gifted winger and putting his development into perspective.
"It’s a life journey. He’s only 18 years old, and he has to keep developing, learning, making mistakes, and from there he will continue to grow," the iconic midfielder said.
Iniesta acknowledged the intense scrutiny Yamal faces due to his extraordinary talent, noting that being in the spotlight often invites criticism over minor details.
"Sometimes, when a person is constantly in the spotlight, people tend to criticise any action or small detail, so I think it’s beautiful and special to see Lamine every week doing what he does on the field," he added.
A long-time admirer of the young forward, Iniesta has consistently supported Yamal since his meteoric rise through the ranks.
