I won't lie — Bernardo Silva makes Arsenal title admission after derby defeat

Manchester City captain Bernardo Silva has admitted that the Premier League title may be moving beyond Manchester City's reach after the 2-0 defeat to Manchester United.

Pep Guardiola's team had a prime opportunity to close the gap on league leaders Arsenal, who were scheduled to play Nottingham Forest later in the day.

At the final whistle, City's players and manager appeared dejected. Silva acknowledged that the gap to Arsenal is becoming a major concern.

"It is a big gap, we won’t lie and say it isn’t a big gap, it is. We will fight until the end," he stated.

The loss extends City's winless streak in the league to four games. Silva expressed his disappointment with the team's performance.

"They had more energy and intention. It always felt like they were close to scoring and we were never there," he added.

"We gave them what they want. They took the game to where they are good, and we are not so good. Since I arrived here in England, we have always been a very controlled team.

"There were a lot of things missing from us. Definitely a bad day for us."

Guardiola was also questioned about the possibility of Mikel Arteta's Arsenal running away with the title.

"It is about how we grow up as a team," he reflected. "I have the feeling we have done very good things so far. To be better, you may have to take a step back. The season is a long way and you have to continue to analyse."

Arsenal missed the chance to go 9 points clear, drawing 0-0 with Nottingham Forest in the late game, but retain a healthy 7-point lead over Guardiola's men.
