"I will always be grateful" - Isak send message to ex-teammates and fans after forcing Liverpool move

The forward forced Newcastle's hand after stating that he is not going to play for the club again if he is not sold to Liverpool.

The Swede had adamantly refused to play for the Magpies to force through his record-breaking transfer to Anfield, with Liverpool paying £125 million for his services.

While Newcastle's farewell message was notably brief, Isak assured that he will always be grateful to his former teammates and the Toon Army.

"I want to express my gratitude to my teammates, the staff, and especially to the city of Newcastle and all the incredible supporters for the three unforgettable years we shared.

"Together, we wrote history and brought the club back to where it deserves to be. It was an honour to be part of this journey, from reaching the Champions League to winning the first trophy in over 70 years.

"I will always be grateful. Thank you, Newcastle!" Isak wrote, while also sharing a video compilation of his highlights in the black and white shirt, as reported by Sportal.
