Manchester United legend Roy Keane has shared his thoughts on this season's Premier League.

The ex-Man Utd captain believes Ruben Amorim's Red Devils are far off being able to compete for the league title and other trophies.

Keane insisted he wouldn't trust the players to restore the club to its former glory.

The former coach, turned pundit, delivered a critical assessment of the team's defensive and midfield units, suggesting they lack the consistency required to perform at the highest level for the Red Devils.

"The attacking players have given United a bit of a boost this year; certainly, they are more of a goal threat," Keane remarked.

However, he was less complimentary about the rest of the team, adding, "But I would not sit here and hang my hat on these midfield and defensive players, that they are good enough to play regularly and do the business week-in, week-out for Man United."

Following the result, Manchester United sit in 8th place in the Premier League standings, having accumulated 22 points from their first 14 matches.
