Heartbreak as Chelsea legend Petr Cech DIVORCES wife of 26 years

Former Chelsea and Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Čech has shocked fans after confirming he and his wife, Martina Cechova, are separating after 26 years together.

The 43-year-old Stamford Bridge legend shared a touching black-and-white photograph of Martina kissing him tenderly on the cheek, alongside a heartfelt caption on his Instagram Stories.

Cech wrote on Thursday, August 14: "Martina and myself are sad to announce that we are separating after 26 years together. We remain best friends and immensely proud of our two children." 

The tone of the post suggests no animosity, only enduring respect. 

The couple's journey began in their teenage years, with Čech and Martina first meeting in 1999. 

They married in June 2003, just a year before Petr’s £7 million move from Rennes to Chelsea catapulted his career into the Premier League spotlight.

Their 26-year marriage has been defined by deep companionship, mutual support, and family bonds that stood strong through Petr’s glittering career.

The pair’s two teenage children: Adela (17) and Damian (16) - are already following in their father’s footsteps, each making their own mark in the footballing world. 

As reported by Daily Mail, Adela currently plays as a defender for the Czech Republic’s Under-17 national team, while Damian has recently signed his first professional contract with Fulham as a goalkeeper.

Čech's sporting legacy remains legendary.

The former Czech Republic international made over 494 appearances for Chelsea, winning blockbuster accolades – including four Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups.

Fans will also never forget that emotional 2012 Champions League final triumph against Bayern Munich.

The former shot-stopper later joined Arsenal before retiring and transitioning into a technical advisory role at Chelsea until 2022.
