Manchester United will be without forward Matheus Cunha for their upcoming Premier League clash against Crystal Palace on Sunday due to an injury sustained in training.

The Brazilian international was absent from the team's 1-0 loss to Everton on Monday following a training ground incident.

Reports suggest Cunha suffered a significant head injury, described as being "almost knocked out," which has necessitated his placement in concussion protocol to ensure a safe return to play.

Amorim issues Cunha injury update

Manager Ruben Amorim, who had initially downplayed the severity of the injury, confirmed on Friday that the 26-year-old will not be available for the match at Selhurst Park.

United's injury woes are compounded by the continued absence of Benjamin Sesko and Harry Maguire, both of whom also missed the Everton fixture.

"Sesko is going to take a little bit more time," Amorim stated in his pre-match press conference. "Harry, the same. I expect to have Matheus in the next one [against West Ham on Thursday], not this one."

When questioned about a potential setback for Sesko, the manager clarified, "No, no. It will take a little bit longer and we are taking care of him."

The team's struggles on the road have been a major concern, with only a single away victory this season.
