Gyokeres extended his barren run to seven games in all competitions for Arsenal and nine for club and country. However, Arteta said that the Sweden international was not worried about his poor form.

What Arteta said

Arsenal beat Fulham 1-0 thanks to a second-half Leandro Trossard strike. Gyokeres had multiple opportunities to score, which he failed to grab, and Arteta shared how keenly they wanted him to break the duck.

"He was very close today again, two or three times,” he said, per Goal. We were all begging for him to score. The work rate he puts in for the team is phenomenal, so we try to give him support and love and it will come.”

Asked about Gyökeres’s goalless run, Arteta said that the former Sporting man was not sweating it, and he remained focused.

"He looks at you and doesn’t move. He was on the screen like this and he just said, 'It’s fine.' That’s him. There’s no emotion there; he just has a single-targeted mindset. That's what I love about him."

Meanwhile, Fulham star Alex Iwobi set a new Premier League record following the game against his former team, Arsenal. Iwobi has become the Nigerian player with the most appearances in the Premier League.
