Timothy Ouma's future at Polish club Lech Poznan is in doubt after he was demoted to the reserve team and excluded from a mid-season training camp in Abu Dhabi.

The club announced that the 21-year-old midfielder had been dropped from the first team for disciplinary reasons.

Timothy Ouma will now train with the reserves while the senior squad prepares for the spring season in the United Arab Emirates.

In a formal statement, Lech Poznan explained the decision: "Timothy acted in a way that violated team rules, so we decided not to include him in the squad for the Abu Dhabi camp. He will remain in the country and prepare for the spring season with the reserves, and his future with our first team depends solely on his performance."

While the specific infraction was not detailed, it is understood that Timothy Ouma was absent from the team's first day of training on January 6.

The club noted that he, along with two other players, missed an introductory meeting and medical tests. The official reason given for Timothy Ouma's absence was a flight delay "due to the weather."

This incident casts a significant shadow over Timothy Ouma's loan spell from Slavia Prague. The move to Poznan, which began last year, was seen as a potential precursor to a permanent transfer.

However, with his loan expiring on June 30, this demotion puts his chances of securing a long-term deal in jeopardy. This is not the first time the young midfielder has faced disciplinary issues.

In November, the Harambee Stars midfielder failed to return to the club on time after an international break, reportedly telling the sporting director and coach he needed to handle "his business" in Kenya. At the time, he had been called up for Harambee Stars fixtures but did not feature.

A similar situation occurred in March of last year while he was with his parent club, Slavia Prague. Timothy Ouma remained in Kenya for over three weeks following a World Cup qualifier against Gabon, citing visa complications for his extended stay.
