Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has said that midfielder Ilkay Gundogan is still undecided about where he wants to spend the remainder of his career, with the midfielder’s current deal set to expire at the end of the season.
Gundogan considering Manchester City exit
Gundogan has been a major talking point ahead of the summer transfer window with the Manchester City midfielder attracting interest from Barcelona and Inter who want to sign him when his current deal with the Cityzens ends.
Gundogan could be available for free in July, and Manchester City would be unable to stop him from joining another club if he refuses a new deal with the club, but the midfielder is keeping his cards close to his chest about his next destination.
Manchester City boss Guardiola has confessed that even he does not know where Gundogan will play next season as the German midfielder is only focused on the current campaign and achieving the club’s goals for the 2022/23 season.
Guardiola unsure of Gundogan’s future with the club
Speaking ahead of Manchester City’s fixture against Leicester City, Guardiola said, "We still don't know what's gonna happen with Gundogan's future.
”He's 100% focused on the present. What’s going to happen for the future, is going to happen. The best for him, he’s going to deserve it.”

Gundogan has been an important part of Manchester City’s set-up since joining from Borussia Dortmund in 2016, and Manchester City would love to keep him, but there have been doubts over his continuity at the club as the 32-year-old becomes more of a peripheral player with his advancing age.
A move to Barcelona cold entice Gundogan to leave Manchester City for free at the end of the season if they are able to promise him more game time.
