GOAT Connection: The legendary moment Usain Bolt recognized Jude Bellingham's greatness at Laureus Sports Awards

In one of the special moments at the 2024 Laureus Sports Awards, track legend Usain Bolt and football star Jude Bellingham recognized each other's greatness.

Bolt and Bellingham linked up and after exchanging pleasantries, the Jamaican fastest man in history posed as they both did Bellingham's goal-scoring celebration.

The Real Madrid and English midfielder was later awarded the 2024 Laureus World Sports Breakthrough of the Year for his outstanding contribution in the past year.

Bellingham made an immediate impact after joining Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund last summer for £89 million, of which he has emerged as a key player for the Spanish club, scoring 17 La Liga goals this season, including the winning goal against Barcelona in El Clasico.

Additionally, the 20-year-old played a crucial role in Real Madrid's victory over Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-final, helping his team advance on penalties.

Meanwhile, Bolt is a four-time Laureus Sportsman of the Year winner, taking the prestigious trophy in 2009, 2010, 2013, and 2017.

Novak Djokovic was named the Laureus Sportsman of the Year for the fifth time, while Spain and Barcelona midfielder Aitana Bonmati claimed the women's equivalent. 

The Spanish women’s football team claimed Team of the Year, and gymnast Simone Biles received the Comeback of the Year. 

Diede de Groot was awarded Sportsperson of the Year with a disability, while Arisa Trew received the Action Sportsperson of the Year award. The Sport for Good award went to Fundacion Rafa Nadal.
