Gift Orban: Nigerian striker joins Hellas Verona FC on loan

Playing in Nigeria, Orban’s talent caught the attention of scouts, leading to his move in 2022 to Stabæk, a club in Norway’s second division.
Orban played a pivotal role in Stabæk’s promotion to the Norwegian Eliteserien and clinched the top scorer title.
Orban’s rapid rise continued when KAA Gent signed him in January 2023 from Stabæk.
He had a historic performance against Istanbul BaÅŸakÅŸehir in the UEFA Europa Conference League with a hat-trick in just three minutes and 25 seconds.
He set a new record for the fastest hat-trick in UEFA competition history beating he mark by Mohamed Salah.
Orban then took on a new challenge with Olympique Lyon in Ligue 1 but his time in France was less fruitful.
In the second half of the 2024-25 season, he joined TSG Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga.
Despite an impressive start to the pre-season, a loan move has now brought him to Hellas Verona.
In Italy, Orban will join Nigerian forwards such as David Okereke of Cremonese and Samuel Chukwueze of AC Milan.
