Nigerian youngster Gift Orban and Gent suffered another heartbreak following a defeat in the Jupiler on Sunday.
Orban featured for 78 minutes but had an underwhelming outing as Oostende shocked Gent at home following a 2-1 win.
The 20-year-old was caged for the duration of his time on the pitch as two second-half goals gave the visitors a deserved win. \
For the second successive game, Orban failed to hit the target with his shots while he also failed to create a single chance.
Orban fire blanks again
After an impressive start to life at Gent, things have not gone to plan in recent weeks for Nigeria’s Orban.
After the Oostende defense expertly handled him, Orban is on his longest run without scoring a goal for Gent.
The Nigeria Super Eagles hopeful has failed to score in each of his last five matches for the Belgian side across all competitions.
His last goal contribution for the club came in the game against RFC Seraing on April 1, when he netted a brace and assisted another in a 5-0 win.
Orban has scored nine goals and assisted two more in 10 matches for Gent in the Belgian Jupiler.
With their recent run, Gent have now dropped as low as fifth on the Jupiler table on 56 points.
