Match Preview

Before the international break, Arsenal managed to break several negative streaks, securing a win at St James' Park, avenging past home defeats to Olympiacos, and avoiding another slip-up against West Ham United.

Their 2-0 victory over the Hammers propelled them to the top of the league standings, a position they held onto thanks to Chelsea's win over a struggling Liverpool.

Mikel Arteta's side currently boasts the best defensive record in the division and trails only Manchester City on goals scored. The team's impressive squad depth has been on full display, with a league-high nine different players finding the back of the net so far this season.

Including a victory in the EFL Cup, the Gunners are on a four-match winning streak across all competitions. They have a strong record in London derbies, having lost just one of their last 18 Premier League encounters against fellow capital clubs. Coincidentally, that single away defeat came at the hands of Fulham.

Marco Silva's team famously spoiled Arsenal's New Year's Eve in 2023 with a 2-1 victory at Craven Cottage and followed it up with a hard-fought 1-1 draw a year later. The Cottagers will be optimistic about their chances again, as they remain unbeaten at home in the 2025-26 Premier League season, having collected seven points from their three matches on home turf.

Although Arsenal have struggled in their last two visits to Fulham, the Cottagers have not kept a clean sheet against the Gunners in their last 20 Premier League meetings. The last time Arsenal failed to score in this fixture was back in August 2008.

Team News

Arsenal will be without captain Martin Odegaard, who is expected to be sidelined for about a month with a knee injury sustained against West Ham. The Norwegian playmaker joins Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, and Noni Madueke in the treatment room.

However, there is positive news for the Gunners, as Ben White and Martin Zubimendi are available for selection after overcoming minor concerns. New signing Piero Hincapie, who has recovered from a groin injury, could make his Premier League debut from the bench.

Fulham are also dealing with significant injury problems in midfield. Sasa Lukic was forced off with a groin issue just 14 minutes into the match against Bournemouth and is expected to be out for four to six weeks. Additionally, Samuel Chukwueze reportedly picked up an injury while on international duty with Nigeria.

The participation of Raul Jimenez (hip) and Kenny Tete (knee) remains uncertain. Antonee Robinson (knee) and Rodrigo Muniz (thigh) are confirmed absentees. On a brighter note for the hosts, former Gunners Emile Smith Rowe, Alex Iwobi, and Bernd Leno are all fit to face their old club.

Time and Where to Watch
