Former Real Madrid hero causes confusion at UFC Jacksonville
Former Real Madrid and PSG defender Sergio Ramos was a surprise guest at the UFC Jacksonville at the weekend.
Ramos was at the front row to cheer on Spanish fighter Illia Toputia at the event held in Florida on Saturday.
As reported by Pulse Sports Nigeria, the former Real Madrid defender was at the event with his compatriot Ferran Torres.
Ramos causes confusion amongst MMA fans
The legendary defender watched from the front and cheered on as his compatriot defeated Josh Emmett after a dominant display per a report from TalkSport.
With the 35-year-old cheering on his fellow Spaniard, his face was shown on the large screen as the announcer recognized the presence of the football great.
However, according to the report, not many of the fans in the arena knew who Ramos was, with many of them asking “who?”
However, these fans were most UFC enthusiasts from the United States of America while the former PSG man was cheered on by Europeans.
Ramos met Topuria backstage after his brilliant display and win before they exchanged pleasantries and took pictures.
The defender is currently a free agent after leaving Ligue 1 giants and champions PSG at the end of the season.
