Former Milan star to earn ₦1k per month at new club
Nikola Kalinic, a well-known former Croatian international and AC Milan forward, has recently rejoined Hajduk Split, the club where he began his professional career, with the club announcing an incredible salary for the striker.
Kalinic to earn €1 Salary Contract
According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Kalinic has signed a contract with Hajduk Split for a mere €1, a symbolic gesture that emphasises his dedication to his boyhood club over financial gain.
Kalinic’s primary objective in returning to Hajduk Split is to aid the team in winning the Croatian league title, which has eluded them for nearly two decades.
The club director also confirmed the ex-Croatia international’s hunger for the title, saying, “Nikola returns with one aim, help Hajduk win the title after 19 years," while he also described the deal to sign the former Atletico Madrid man as “the easiest deal” in his 3 years at Hajduk.
Kalinic's journey across two Hajduk Split spells
Having played in some of Europe's top leagues, including the Premier League, Serie A, and La Liga, Kalinic brings a wealth of experience to Hajduk Split.
In addition to previous spells at Hadjuk, AC Milan, and Atletico Madrid, Kalinic has also played for top sides like Fiorentina and Roma in Serie A.
He was last on the books of Hadjuk but did not renew his previous contract, which expired in June 2023, only to return to the club a few months later.
