'Football is not fair’ - Arokodare’s boss breaks silence after devastating blow against Tottenham

Wolves head coach Vitor Pereira has voiced his frustration after his team’s heartbreaking 1-1 draw with Tottenham. 

The Portuguese coach believes that football "sometimes is not fair" following a dramatic late equaliser that denied his side a crucial first win of the Premier League season.

Wolves had taken the lead through Santiago Bueno, who scored his first Premier League goal. 

However, in added time, Spurs snatched a point with a late goal from Joao Palhinha, leaving the Wolves bench and fans devastated.

Pereira believes his team deserved all three points from the match at Molineux. “We deserved the three points but football sometimes is not fair,” he told Premier League. "Keeping this spirit, playing the way we played in the second half, we'll get our points."

"It's very difficult to concede a goal in the last minute," Pereira said, highlighting the mental toll of the result. He praised his team's second-half performance, stating, "We were the best team in the second half."

Despite the disappointment, Pereira, who started midweek hero in the Carabao Cup, Tolu Arokodare, on the bench expressed confidence in his squad’s ability to compete. 

“Now we're proving our quality. Now mentally and tactically we are in conditions to compete,” he said. 

The coach also believes that if his team maintains their current level of performance, the positive results will soon follow.

The draw gives Wolves their first point of the season, but for a team that felt victory was within their grasp, it feels more like a loss. 

The late equaliser serves as a cruel reminder of the fine margins in the Premier League, but Pereira remains optimistic about his team's future.
