Writz lands in England
The German international landed at 4:42 pm local time and was greeted by club representatives, according to Sportal.
Reports indicate Wirtz will undergo his medical either this evening or tomorrow, before officially signing his contract with the club.
The long-awaited transfer of the German international is now in its final stages. After protracted negotiations, the Premier League champions reached an agreement with Leverkusen for a fee of £116 million.
Leverkusen initially rejected three bids from Liverpool, holding out for £127 million, but the deal was finalised after they lowered their asking price.
Manchester City were also interested in Wirtz, but the player appears to have favored Liverpool's offer. Meanwhile, City have bolstered their midfield with the signings of Ryan Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders.
Wirtz will join Liverpool's pre-season training under manager Arne Slot and is expected to occupy the number 10 role next season.
