Addressing the matter through Citizen Digital, Mohammed stated, “On the issue of the coach (Beldine Odemba), as the president, I try not to interfere with matters that are under the purview of the secretariat, and as things stand she is still the coach.”
His comments are intended to douse the speculation and affirm continuity within the technical bench as the team eyes regional glory.
Starlets Off to a Flying Start in Tanzania
Odemba’s charges began their CECAFA Women’s Championship campaign on a high, dispatching Burundi 3-0 thanks to a brace from Martha Amunyolet and a goal from Faith Mboya.
The team’s next test comes on Tuesday against rivals Uganda, who are coming off a 5-0 triumph over South Sudan.
A win for the Starlets would all but confirm their place in the knockout rounds and further validate Odemba’s leadership amid the uncertainty surrounding her job.
