Fisayo Dele-Bashiru: Atalanta and Lazio fight for signature of Super Eagles star
Top clubs in Europe have been keeping an eye on Dele-Bashiru following his stellar campaign with Hatayspor in the Turkish Super League last year.
Italian side Lazio made the first contact with his club for the Nigerian player and claimed to have an agreement with the Turkish side.
With Lazio still monitoring the situation of the player, Atalanta have swooped in to try and hijack the deal.
Dele-Bashiru on Italian club's radar
Lazio, one of the biggest teams in Italy, have been in the lead in the race to sign Dele-Bashiru this summer.
According to reports, the two clubs have agreed a transfer fee of approximately seven million euros (₦11 billion) for the move to go through.
However, all parties engaged in the move have not yet made it public, leaving Atalanta to swoop in for his signature.
According to TuttoAtalanta, Atalanta, the winners of the Europa League reportedly ready to hijack the deal for Dele-Bashiru.
Given how well he performed on his competitive debut for Nigeria earlier this month, Dele-Bashiru's price is expected to increase.
The midfielder scored for the Super Eagles in the 1-1 draw with South Africa during the World Cup qualifiers.
