The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) club celebrated its Nigerian international's achievement following the announcement.

Alozie is one of 26 elite players nominated for the prestigious team, which is voted on by professional footballers worldwide. The list also features reigning African Women's Player of the Year, Barbara Banda of Zambia.

What Houston Dash said

In a post on their official X account, the Houston Dash congratulated their player, writing, "Congratulations to @alozieee for being named to the @FIFPRO Women’s World XI shortlist."

The nomination comes as Alozie is on international duty with the Super Falcons of Nigeria. She is part of the squad preparing for the final round of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers against the Benin Republic in Abeokuta.

Nigeria holds a comfortable 2-0 aggregate lead from the first leg, where goals from Chiwendu Ihezuo and Esther Okoronkwo secured the victory. Alozie, who was a key member of the Super Falcons team that reached the Round of 16 at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, will be aiming to help her country qualify for the upcoming WAFCON.

The continental tournament will also serve as the qualification pathway for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup. Alozie was also part of the Nigerian squad that won a record-extending 10th WAFCON title in Morocco.
