Mohammed Bajaber, who has enjoyed a stellar season with Kenya Police, revealed that Harambee Stars need to go into all their matches with the much-needed confidence to succeed.

“You can’t go into the tournament while fearing your opponents; you have to respect them, but do not fear. If you want to be the best, you have to beat the best, and that is the mentality we need to have,” Mohammed Bajaber said in a video shared by Jason Sagini on X.

Mohammed Bajaber is also in awe after receiving another national team call-up, revealing that it is a privilege since Benni McCarthy would have opted to select other midfielders.

He noted that the main goal going into the tournament, Harambee Stars want to win their matches and hopefully make it to the final.

Bajaber added that after winning the Football Kenya Federation Premier League title with Kenya Police, he has greatly improved and believes he has all it takes to make an impact with Harambee Stars.

He credited Kenya Police for giving him a platform to gain all the skills and prepare him for greater assignments, which include representing Kenya in CHAN.

“I feel honoured…out of all the players, it’s an honour to be selected for the national team, and I’m so proud. Obviously, as a team, we have to be ambitious and go into the championship with a winning mindset, and that’s my main goal,” he added.

“It’s very important because obviously, it gave me a platform to get here, and I’m so proud to be a Kenya Police player and very happy to be a champion.”

Mohammed Bajaber concluded by urging fans to show up in large numbers, noting that it will be a huge opportunity to play on home soil.
