FAU: BetPawa sponsorship will give the futsal league a facelift
The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) and BetPawa agreed to a partnership for three competitions, including the Futsal Super League for the 2023/2024 season.
This deal includes the commercial and naming rights of the league and will now be the BetPawa Futsal Super League.
According to the package breakdown, the BetPawa Futsal league will receive USD 20,000 (UGX 70 million).
"Money is not enough, but this sponsorship is more than just money. It's about empowering and promoting our teams, players and the league itself," Jjunjju told the media before adding.
"The association will use the money to develop the league by purchasing new equipment like digital scoreboards, balls and league data development and proper access to it."
"The money will also be used in club facilitation that will inevitably boost league performance to enable our product to stand out," he told Pulse Sports.
The BetPawa Futsal Super League is on a break after the Yeak Kabowa were crowned champions for the second time in June in a shortened season.
With the new money rolling in, the league is set for a resumption in October 2023, with league management yet to come up with a kick-off date.
