The former Blues midfielder addressed the rumours while speaking ahead of his side’s upcoming Serie A clash with Udinese.

'I have nothing to say' — Fabregas on Chelsea links

With Chelsea parting company with Enzo Maresca on January 1, Fabregas’ name has surfaced in media reports as a possible successor at Stamford Bridge.

However, the Spaniard offered little encouragement to those suggestions when quizzed during his pre-match press conference.

“I have nothing to say,” Fabregas said, responding bluntly to questions about the Chelsea links. He was quick to underline his commitment to his current job, adding: “I’m here, and I’m the Como coach, hopefully for quite a long spell.”

Fabregas has enjoyed an encouraging start to his managerial career in Italy, with Como sitting sixth in the Serie A table.

His side have recorded three wins and two defeats in their last five league matches, a run that has helped stabilise the club and raise optimism around his long-term project.

Chelsea situation remains uncertain amid fan unrest

While Fabregas has distanced himself from the vacancy, Chelsea’s managerial situation remains fluid. The club are widely reported to be leaning towards Strasbourg boss Liam Rosenior, whose work within the BlueCo ownership structure has impressed decision-makers.

However, that potential appointment has sparked backlash from sections of the Chelsea fanbase, with concerns raised over Rosenior’s limited experience at the highest level.

On the pitch, Chelsea currently sit fifth in the Premier League following a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth just before the New Year. Despite being in the European places, the Blues are already 15 points adrift of league leaders Arsenal, a gap that has intensified scrutiny of the club’s direction.

For now, Fabregas appears content to watch developments from afar. His clear message was one of focus and loyalty to Como, even as speculation around Chelsea continues to swirl.
